Gesa Credit Union Partners with Centralia College to Launch New Fundraising Affinity Debit Card

RICHLAND, WASH. (November 19, 2025) – Gesa, a leading credit union in the Pacific Northwest dedicated to driving meaningful change in the communities it serves, today announced a partnership with Centralia College to launch a new co-branded Affinity Debit Card. With every swipe, Gesa members will help raise funds that directly support student scholarships and make higher education more attainable, all at no additional cost to them.

“We’re very excited to launch this new partnership with Gesa Credit Union,” said Dr. Robert Cox, Vice President of Student Services at Centralia College. “The funds raised through the new Affinity Debit Cards directly support student scholarships and make higher education more attainable. They’re a great opportunity for parents, alumni, and community members to flash some Blazer pride and support students without having to do anything special or changing their habits. Plus, we’re looking forward to some special Gesa nights with our sports teams and other fun opportunities to get involved on campus in the coming year.”

This partnership marks an exciting milestone as Gesa’s first collaboration with Centralia College. It expands the community programs and resources now available in Southwest Washington following Gesa’s acquisition of Security State Bank earlier this year and reflects the credit union’s continued investment in local education and the people who make it thrive.

Since its launch in 2015, Gesa’s Affinity Debit Card Program has generated more than $2.2 million for partner school districts and universities across the Pacific Northwest. This year marked the program’s largest annual giveback to date, with a record $440,000 awarded to 31 partner school districts.

Gesa’s Co-Branded Affinity Debit Cards are available exclusively at Gesa Credit Union and are free to Gesa members with a checking account. Student Checking	[APY] Dividends on Student Checking Accounts are calculated using the daily balance method and will be credited to the member’s account every month. Rate may change after the account is opened. If you close your account before dividends are paid, you will not receive the accrued dividends. The minimum balance to open an account is $5.00, the par value of a share. Courtesy Pay is not offered on Student Checking Accounts. Money Market	[APY] Dividends for the Money Market Account are calculated using the daily balance method which applies a daily periodic rate to the balance in the account each day. There is a minimum average daily balance of $2,500.00 required to avoid a service fee for the calendar month. The Certificate owner must contact Gesa Credit Union to request the one-time rate increase on Bump Certificate accounts. The rate on the Bump Certificate will be changed on the following business day of the date Gesa Credit Union receives the request. The bump option can only be exercised once during the term of the Certificate and does not increase the term of the certificate. The new interest will not be applied retroactively. The new interest rate will be the interest rate we are then offering on regular certificates (non- bump rate certificates) that have the same term and minimum balance.
