RICHLAND, WASH. (April 28, 2026) ‒ Gesa, a leading credit union in Washington dedicated to driving meaningful change in the communities it serves, is proud to announce the annual impact of its Forevergreen Affinity Card. In its third year, members helped fund the planting of more than 97,000 trees across the Pacific Northwest through everyday card use.
“What makes this program meaningful is seeing how our members continue to show up for causes they’re passionate about,” said Brandon Allison, VP of Community Impact, Gesa Credit Union. “Their participation each year is what allows us to support projects like this at a larger scale. It’s a reflection of how small, everyday actions can build into something much larger for the communities we serve and for future generations.”
The Forevergreen Affinity Card was launched in 2023 in partnership with the Arbor Day Foundation to support tree-planting projects in areas of greatest need, with every swipe helping fund planting projects across the Pacific Northwest. To date, the program has raised more than half a million dollars and helped fund the planting of more than 200,000 trees across the region.
“Gesa Credit Union’s commitment to this program continues to make a meaningful difference for communities and forests across the region,” said Dan Morrow, Vice President, Partnerships at the Arbor Day Foundation. “We’re proud to continue working together and see the impact grow each year.”
This year’s efforts supported two primary projects across Washington and Oregon, each focused on restoring forested areas and supporting the long-term health of the region’s landscapes.
Western Washington
In western Washington, the project planted a diverse mix of native species to support forest areas affected by disease and storm damage. More than 78,000 trees were planted through this effort.
Oregon
In Oregon, the project planted native trees in areas previously affected by wildfire. More than 18,000 trees were planted through this initiative through the Arbor Day Foundation’s network of local planting partners.
