Dividends on a Colossal Checking Account will be compounded and credited to a member's accounts each month. Dividends on Colossal Checking accounts are calculated using the average daily balance method. Qualifying account balances meet minimum requirements. APY subject to change monthly. APY is accurate as of 4/1/2014, the last dividend declaration date. Rate may change after the account is opened. Fees could reduce earnings on the account. The qualifying period begins with the first day of the calendar month and ends on the last day of the calendar month at 6:00 P.M. Pacific Time. ATM fees of $4.99 or less will be reimbursed up to a maximum of $4.99 per individual transaction.
Effective June 1, 2014 the above requirement to have 12 debit card transactions is changed as follows: You must have 18 debit card transactions (excluding ATM transactions/inquiries) posted during the qualifying period. In addition it will no longer be a requirement to log-on to online banking every qualifying period. All other account requirements remain the same.

We pay overdrafts at our discretion, which means we do not guarantee that we will always authorize and pay any type of transaction. If we do not authorize and pay an overdraft, your transaction will be declined. We do authorize and pay overdrafts for checks and other transactions made using your checking account number and automatic bill payments. Beginning August 15, 2010, we will not authorize and pay overdrafts for ATM transactions and everyday debit card transactions unless you ask us to. Courtesy Pay: Funds from your corresponding checking account will be transferred first to cover your overdraft, for a $5.00 fee. If there is not enough in your checking account to cover the overdraft, your account will be charged the standard NSF fee of $28 for handling each item even if paid by the discretionary Courtesy Pay privilege. This privilege for consumer checking accounts will generally be limited to a maximum of $500 overdraft (negative) balance. Any and all fees and charges, including the non-sufficient funds fees for paid items using Courtesy Pay as well as returned items (as set forth in Gesa’s fee schedules and disclosures), will be included as part of this maximum amount. Whether your overdrafts will be paid is discretionary and we reserve the right not to pay. For example, we typically do not pay overdrafts if you have met your $500 limit for Courtesy Pay; are not in good standing with Gesa; have not maintained the required $5 Primary Savings account deposit; have a Gesa loan that is past due; your Courtesy Pay privileges have been revoked on another Gesa account; or if the amount needed to cover your payment exceeds your $500 Courtesy Pay limit. The total of the discretionary Courtesy Pay (negative) balance, including all fees and charges, is due and payable upon demand, and Depositor and each Authorized Signatory will continue to be liable, jointly and severally, for all such amounts, as described in the Member Account Agreement with a maximum repayment period of 30 days. Overdraft Fee Transaction Categories - The categories of transactions for which an overdraft fee may be imposed are those by any of the following means: check, in-person withdrawal, ATM withdrawal, or other electronic means.
