Cheryl Brown is Gesa Credit Union’s Chief Operating Officer, overseeing operations, card services, loan servicing, collections, facilities, and enterprise project management across the organization.
Since joining Gesa in 2011, Cheryl has driven operational consistency during a period of significant organizational growth. She established Gesa’s project management office to coordinate large-scale initiatives across departments—creating the infrastructure that allows the credit union to manage concurrent system conversions, branch expansions, and process improvements while continuing to provide outstanding member service.
Cheryl’s career in financial services spans 35 years, beginning as a part-time teller and progressing through operational leadership roles at regional banks and community financial institutions. Throughout her career, she has specialized in operations and project management, accumulating more than 20 years of deep expertise in these areas.
In her leadership role, she focuses on compounding efficiency—recognizing that saving minutes in a single process, when multiplied across thousands of transactions, creates meaningful capacity for the organization to serve members better.
What drew Cheryl to Gesa was its commitment to the credit union philosophy of “people helping people” and its focus on the communities it serves. She has embraced the credit union world and what it stands for, bringing her decades of banking expertise to an organization aligned with her values.
